Families living in Summerdale are served well by the Baldwin County School District.  Colleges and universities in proximity to Summerdale include University of South Alabama is in Fairhope, James H. Faulkner State Community College is in Bay Minette (28 miles), the University of West Florida in Pensacola (34 miles), and University of South Alabama in Mobile Alabama (36 miles).
