Mardi Gras Season Fairhope Alabama

Mardi Gras Season Fairhope Alabama

Fairhope AlabamaMardi Gras fun is making its way through Fairhope Alabama and the Eastern Shore.  As part of Mobile’s Beaches and Gulf Coast Region, we participate in the fabulous Mardi Gras events held all around the city.

Start with our family-friendly, free parades. See the schedule below.  Parades begin at the corner of Oak and N. Section Street at 6:45 p.m. and loop through downtown Fairhope and back to the Civic Center.  Beautiful colorful floats, masked riders in costumes, lady marshals on horseback, and lots of treats in store.  Drop by early to see the floats up close.  Here are a few peeks of what’s to come:

Mystic Mutts of Revelry

A fundraiser for The Haven animal shelter, the Mystic Mutts of Revelry features dogs, lots of dogs – and people.  Monies (almost $150,000) go towards veterinary and medical care for the organization which provides for adoption.  For 13 years, The Mystic Mutts have strutted their stuff to the amusement of all.Fairhope Alabama

“Riding with the Knights” Knights of Ecor Rouge

The Knights Have been Harte or 33 years. Their clothes feature famous “rides.” Several bands keep the bait during the parade. Join High school bands, Olympia Brass Band, Robertsdale Navel Junior ROTC, and McGuire’s Pipe Band. Batmobile, back to the future’s DeLorean, Roscoe P. Coltrane’s patrol car, KITT, the A-Team van, Scooby-Doo’s Mystery Machine, and many more. The organization also parades longtime favorites: the gator Daphne, the Bay boat, the Pelican, and the emblem float.

“On the Wild Side” Maids of Jubilee

Come see the jungle animals in all their glory. Bright colors are inevitable for the “On the Wild Side” parade. Zebras, flamingos, and tigers join the previous best floats designed by Maids of Jubilee. High school bands, a drum and symbol, rest bands, and several others will set the beach. But all of the clothes are enhanced with new sound systems.

“Hometown Throw Down” Ladies of the Mystic Magnolias

Mystic Magnolias accentuate the heart of Baldwin County. 14 marshals on horseback, bands and an array of familiar displays will have everyone toe tapping. Lookout for Festival and Fairest Wheels, John Deere Green, Down on the Delta, Fairhope Flow, Salt Life, Polo and Pearls, Maiden Voyage, and Mardi Gras.
